The plant was established in the year 1969 at Jajpur Road, Orissa, India. Salient features of the existing project is given below :-

(i) Process - know - how - Mr. Seven Harry Willners of M/s. A.B. Metallurgy Consultant, Kallanosvgen,        49A, Lidingo, Stock - Holm, Sweden.

(ii) Equipment for Furnace and auxilliaries improted from. - Sweden, Norway, France, Italy, West Germany.

PRODUCTS CAPACITY In MT. REMARKS

i) One no submerged ARC Melting Furnace (9 MVA) High Carbon Ferro Chrome 12000 (MT) At present producing HCFC.
ii) One No. open ARC melting Furnace (6.5 MVA) Low Carbon ferro Chrome 8000 (MT) Idle
iii) Rotary Kiln 100 TPD Idle

(d) Chromite Mine :

Corporation has a chromite mine at Tailangi around (60 KM) from Plant.

Area : 237 Hectares
Expected Deposit : 63.40 Lakhs MT (Approx) of High grade ore.

(e) Power Supply :

(i) Captive Power Plant : 9.5 MW capacity
(ii) Contract demand with GRIDCO : 9500 KVA.

OPPORTUNITY :

Utilisation of 6.5 MVA furnace and Rotary Kiln for production of Ferro Alloys e.g. Ferro Manganese / Ferro Vanadium / Silico Manganese / Ferro tungsten / Ferro Tatanium etc.
Technology transfer for reducing power consumption from 3700 KWH to 3000 KWH per MT of HCFC produced.
Further expansion for other ferro alloys with captive thermal power either from own project or from other sources.
